After 15 or more years of working for the man, I had had enough. My day had grown from a four hour slog in an eight hour day to a 13 hour slog in a 12 hour day over the course of those 15 or so years, that was how much the business had changed since I first went into it.
Can you guess what my trade was?

Anyway, since I fired my boss and moved away from the smoke, my life has improved in so many ways. Most of all because I can now participate in the real family life, instead of delegating all the work of bringing up the children to my wonderful partner.

How have I achieved this?

I work for myself now. Not totally by myself though, because I have a wonderful support structure around me, built by people who are doing the same sort of thing as I am, but who started first and made all the stupid mistakes and had all the amazing revelations, so that I don't need to go through that stage of the process.

I am involved with two different businesses, one of my own and one that I am helping to set up for my partner, neither of which takes up a lot of time. At 2.30pm you will usually find me sitting on my couch next to my partner watching an hour or so of TV before we decide who is going to pick up our son from school.

Am I rich? Well, not yet but I soon will be and at 45 years old I intend to retire at 50 with a good amount of money coming in from those two businesses every month even after I retire.
A bit like a pension really, but then that's probably just as well since the pittance that I will recieve from the government in 20 years time won't keep a mouse fat.

So how will they achieve that?
