Imagine a World where anything is possible and you can be anything you want to be, have anything you want to have, and money is no object. Now imagine that this world is possible.

Welcome to Second Life - a Virtual World where spirituality and Christianity is thriving.

When I first logged on, my mind went rampant with the possibilities. This was instant gratification at it's peak. Any thing I wanted, I could have within a matter of minutes, hours or days - not years. I wanted to meet someone from Harvard. Done. I wanted to go hang-gliding. Done. I wanted to shop till I dropped. Over-done. Heheheh.  And when it was all done, I came around to myself again.

I just can't escape the fact that spirituality fascinates me and that I'm still trying to find people who have had experiences of faith. People who have stories to share about the signs and wonders they've used to guide their lives in the right paths and who have had moments of clarity and wisdom that they will share with me. I go to services in-world that seem to promise these kinds of encounters.

This is a picture of me in an Anglican service recently being held by "Real Life" minister, "Mark Brown". He was speaking about the topic of perseverance and related some info from a conference at Harvard that he had attended.  It was a great spiel about taking control of your life - something we all need to rethink from time to time. And it only had 3 points, which makes it simple to remember.

The point is this - that virtually worlds are touching upon our real life worlds and issues in important ways. People are finding meaningful and relevant answers to problems they are facing right now. The context might be changing, but inside is still a message that is never going to go out of style.
