My recent surgery got me to thinking about all the many hospitals I've been to either as a visitor or a patient - I cannot recall all the names, but most are woven into the following .......

I've been everywhere man
or at least it seemed to be
An isolation ward in Sheffield
sometime in the mid fifties
That's the first one that I can recall
but maybe there were others whilst I was still young
Hayes Cottage hospital for scrapes big and small
Hillingdon Hospital much more often
Last time there was to see my Dad
For sure he will never be forgotten

The Royal Orthapaedic when my sister was there
for many a month it's true
Seeing some young kids with no limbs
shook me through and through
Northwick Park took away lymph glands
that were no longer how they used to be
St Leonards in Kingsland Road
For stitches and minor surgery
St Thomas by the river Thames
and Guys not far from there
Some spot in Slough I forget the name
reversed the snips I'd had for free
but that time cost a bundle
before bundles we had three

Wexham Park a time or two
Chichester hospital while out and about
where an X-ray didn't reveal
the cause of the trouble was just gout
What a bother it is being sick
Royal Berks for the births of my three
The Battle for other odd things
and the Wokingham my niece to see
Great Ormond Street with the kids
back in nineteen ninety five
that was after our son was born
when my wife was still alive
Central Middlesex were Mum gave her all
I've been to more than once
confusingly another Middlesex hospital
was in London town itself
Harefield was the hardest though
as there it was at last to be
that a transplant didnt work too well
and my wife passed eventually
The Pilgrim and the Welland
the Johnson and Fitzwilliam
and now the Queens in Nottingham
Seems like I've been everywhere man
and I'd like to thank them all........
