Thursday,Aug 21 2008, 12:23:43 PMIn u & me (as in reality)

Everything is connected. No event happens in isolation.
No company exists in a vacuum. No person lives alone.

Over 10 yrs we hav been harvesting human feelings
from a large # of weblogs; we search the world's
newly posted blog entries for occurrences of the phrases
'I feel' & 'I am feeling.' When we find such a phrase,
we record the full sentence, up to the period, & identify
the 'feeling' expressed in dat sentence (e.g. sad, happy,
depressed, etc.). bcos blogs are structured in largely
standard ways, the age, gender & geographical location
of the author can often be extracted & saved along with
the sentence, as can the local weather conditions at the
time the sentence was written. All of dis information is
hereby saved. The result is a database of several billion
human feelings. We know ppl; yet u never know who we r.
on the road..
Does he feel sad/perplexed more often than she?
Does her gf feel fat/hungry more often than she?
Does rainy/nippy weather affect how they feel in vancouver?
Wht are the most representative feelings of gay ppl in their 20s?
What do ppl feel rite now in the middle of nite at hongkong?
Wht were bi people feeling on Valentine's Day in newyorkcity?
Which are the happiest cities in the world? The loneliest? & so on.

The properties of interfaces - color, size, shape, opacity -
indicate the nature of the feeling inside. It grows & changes
as we grow & change, reflecting wht's on our blogs,
wht's in our hearts, what's in our minds. We hope
it makes the world seem a little smaller, & we hope it
helps ppl see beauty in the everyday ups & downs of life.
