Tuesday,Feb 5 2008, 12:01:33 AM Love in life

Life is so confusing sometimes. With Valentine's Day just around the corner it feels like the whole world is embrassing the loves of their lives. My mom just found a guy that I think she really is falling in love with, and I know that is what she really needs because she had became one of those cynical people who get hurt once and almost give up one love. But the reason for her hurt is for another journal. Back to my main point I guess. Why is it that people decide that now is the time they have to be in love? I mean doesn't it seem kinda stupid that just because a holiday that has largely been commercialized is causing everyone in the world to want to fall in love? What is there besides the tradition that says that Valentine's Day is more remantic then other days? I mean what's more romantic about Febuary 14 then August 1 or again any random date? It is solely that people decided let's make everyone worry about their love lives for one day of their lives if they are single or to be put pressure on all the couples out there. It doesn't seem like that ever works out because it puts the single people in bad moods and if not done right can break a couple apart. It just seems like love shouldn't be reserved for one day. Being romantic should be an every day thing, whether it's just showing up for a few minutes to give the person you love a kiss, or if it's buying them something you know they would like. It doesn't seem fair to me at all. I am madly in love with an amazing guy and I even realize that I don't know what to do on Valentine's Day because there are so many things to do and not to do. And at the same time, I try not to expect too much out of him but I know that I want him to be the romantic guy that I fell in love with. I want him to buy me something nice and some flowers... maybe even some chocolates. But at the same time, I know that I don't know what I can do for him to make him love any gift I could get for him like I would any from him. I don't want guys to read this and think "O I have to go buy flowers, chocolates, and some really expensive thing..." because you should know that if the woman you are with truly loves you, she will love anything you get her for Valentine's Day, and if you can't get  anything simply being with her would make her happy as well. And my fellow ladies out there I want you to know that doing anything for your man on Valentine's Day will most likely make him happy so don't fret over this as much as I have because trust me it is exhasting.
