THE THREE KINGS COME JANUARY 6
The Gospel of San-Mateo (M 2, 1-12) account of a few Magos* that came from east looking for the new king who should be born. In the writing one abounds very much neither on his origin, his personality, his features, nor even his names.
It is assumed that they were "wise" or astronomers called in that epoch as "magicians", because they had following a star that was presaging the arrival of the new king. Since they were coming with gifts for the king who should be born, the tradition describes them as kind kings with presents for all, assigning a name and specific features to each one. Melchor: A white elder with white beards. His gift for Jesús is a gold, representing his real nature. Gaspar: Brown young man. His gift is the incense, which represents the divine nature of Jesús.
Baltasar: Of black race. His gift to Jesús is a myrrh, which represents his suffering and future death. Select here if you want to read the fragment of the Gospel of San-Mateo that mentions the Magicians (M 2, 1-12). HAPPY DAY !!!!!!
