People work hard to get where they are and then basically get shat on by the government. Teachers, for example. Not mention all the rubbish that's going down over here about people's pensions. I don't think it's fair at all. But hey, that's the way it goes.

Most people have done many horrible selfish things. I take every good experience as a blessing. A bonus - Definitely not a given. Who is anyone to demand or expect a pain-free life? This is what i mean by life is fair. Cos anyone who feels "jipped" by life, must be pretty damn selfish and theyre the last people to deserve "happiness".

People who truly deserve what we call "happiness" are generally already happy.

Its the same as pity. Never pity anyone. People who want it, dont deserve it. People who deserve it, dont want it or need it.

As far as rapists, murderers, p-files and the usual culprits go.... I have yet to encounter a single one who is happy as larry. Except perhaps the crazy ones, in which case - theyre crazy. You cant really count them. The only reason ANYONE hates other people is because they hate themself. Put yourself in the shoes of a murderer and try to imagine feeling a sense of fulfillment. They are desperate people. The self-loathing they have, and the pity others hold for them is the worst thing anyone can experience.

"Nice" and "fair" are just different things.

Maybe not done anything wrong...but i know a hell of a lot of people who are have been pretty "good", but have still got s*it smeared in their face on quite a regular basis. You can't really expect anything from life, but it would be nice for some people to not live a life of pain and suffering.


I don't think it's a case of people feeling "jipped", i think it's more of a case of people thinking "i can't handle this anymore". They are the ones who are fucked over by life and do deserve the happiness.

And i dont really see how you're trying to seperate being "jipped" from being "fucked over by life". Sound like exactly the same things to me.

Everyone has their own s*i* to deal with. Just because some people in life are ungrateful, or selfish, or self-righteous or narrowminded or more prone to whining or whatever! - doesnt make them a better person than anyone else.

To the hundreds of thousands of people who were victims of genocide under Milosevic's rule, life is unfair. To the tens of thousands of people who were gassed by Saddam, life is unfair. To the people who went to or are in jail but are innocent, life is unfair. To the children who got molested, life is unfair.

Life is shitty, nice, beautiful, complicated, good, sucks, sweet, vibrant and UNFAIR is definitely a qualifying adjective to life. Capiche?

i think the people who have a family, food on the table everyday, a roof over their head and are healthy are not justified to say life is not fair..

i guess it's just my opinion but there is a whole lot of negativity in this thread...

What about families that are ripped apart? Children that lose one, or both, of their parents? Or their silblings? People who are sexually, physically and mentally abused every day of their lives? Children shoved around from foster home to foster home, not wanted by anyone?


Don't know about you Luke, but i'd say that they are justified to say that life is not fair.

Life is fucking incredible. For everyone, no exception. The chances of merely being born are one in a million trillion.

Life is unfair?? what the hell does life owe us? What have any of us done that entitles us to a pain free life? There is not one combination of bad experiences that could come close to overshadowing the immense priveledge we are all born with.

Unfair? life is not a person. Life has no motives. no agenda. Life cannot BE anything BUT fair.

Anyone who chooses not to commit suicide is clearly admitting even by their own reckoning that ultimately, it IS fair. Having said that, all suicide can ever prove is selfishness and ungratefulness. Good fucking riddance.
