Chandramukhi is Rajinikanth's 2005 Tamil language Indian movie. A remake of the critically acclaimed Malayalam movie Manichitrathazhu, the movie was a popular one and broke several Bollywood box office records and is currently one of the highest grossing movie ever in the Indian film industry. The film has grossed a record 1.46 Million USD in Malaysia alone. [1] The movie stars Rajinikanth, Jyothika, Nayanthara, Vineeth, Malavika and Prabhu as lead characters. It was produced by actor Prabhu under his home banner, Sivaji Productions, named after his father Tamil actor, Sivaji Ganesan. The movie was directed by P.Vasu. Music is composed by Vidyasagar. The movie was released on the eve of Tamil New Year, April 14, 2005. The film was subsequently dubbed into Telugu on 29 December 2005 as Chandramukhi.
