Celine Dion - I Knew I Loved You

Celine's tribute to tribute to Italian composer Ennio Morricone. This is the first time I've heard her sing with as much depth as this performance, especially in the use of her lower tones which is a welcome change from her trademark pop belts - especially for a lyric such as this one which calls for more intimacy (As much as many argued she's out of her depth with Morricone's music). Unfortunately, the performance also had many weak spots : ie the more the song progressed the more it appeared Celine had trouble navigating through the lyrical elements of the melody; her delivery sounding a little more stressed and sluggish than usual. I wouldn't say her voice has lost all its flexibility and color yet - but years of constant singing in Las Vegas seems to have definitively taken a hard toll on the Quebec chanteuse's instrument.
