A.Refuge updates! New articles and features!
Thursday,Dec 14 2006, 11:10:54 PM

Hey hey, It would be awesome if you checked out my magazine now that we are friends. It's not just a magazine but a community for creative people and fans. If you have any suggestions about the magazine or site you can make them on the blog of this profile- support on aRefuge.com If you are out of the U.S. use the zipcode 90210 to sign up. We'll fix this soon. (we just started the site) Sincerely, gary Here's some more information about A.Refuge: ----------------------------------------------------- Press Release Aesthetic Refuge is an online magazine that highlights artistic and creative personalities through personal interviews, unique stories and snappy writing. The magazine was founded by Gary Livingston, Zach Wyckoff and Mike Retrum, who serve as editors and designers of the website, while also providing content themselves that is put up on the site. The website is designed to provide visual and intellectual stimulus, aimed to inspire artists far and wide. You will not find Hollywood gossip and tabloid drivel anywhere on the site. Instead, honest stories about regular people who’ve garnered a successful career through music, fashion, art, writing, film, you name it. Aesthetic Refuge is interested in the creative process, success stories, and original thinking without developing a reputation for being ostentatious, exemplified by the various writing styles and diverse stories featured in the magazine. The website has been designed for both the casual browser and serious artist. Readers can set up their own free account to create a personal profile, and are entered into the Aesthetic Refuge community. Once the account is established, you are free to roam anywhere throughout the site to view exclusive content, enter contests, rate stories that have been published on the website, post your own personal work, and much more. When you create your own account, you may choose from four profile types; basic, musician, artist or designer. This is the crux behind the magazine’s purpose, essentially saying, “Hey, there’s plenty of room for everybody. So don’t just get your feet wet. Jump in.” Although the website gives specific links to the published material, browsing the site you will find a vast array of articles not limited to the confines of just entertainment, music, fashion and art. You might be inspired by Eolo Perifido’s featured photography or disarmed by Neill McClung’s modesty. You might enjoy the success story of 311 or that Anna Mkhitarian used leftover scraps to create new clothes for her Barbie collection. You will find these drops of personality throughout the magazine. You will find that if you read behind the lines, there is much more to be found in the magazine. While Aesthetic Refuge is still in its genesis stage, it continues to grow at a rapid pace from the dedication of its founders, its readers and writers. -------------------------------------------------------- Recent Articles-

------------------------------------------------------ New music system for the community- .. A.Refuge Music ....

Do more with your music

The A.Refuge Music System provides musicians with a simple, efficient tool to present their musical talents to a community of receptive listeners.

Members of the A.Refuge community can not only listen to songs on Musician Profiles, but also add these songs to their own playlists and stream songs from a personalized music player on their very own profile pages.

If your music is worthy, it will quickly spread throughout the community and gain increased exposure within thousands of individualized playlists. With this system you have access to statistics informing you how your music is performing on the site including detailed demographic information on who is listening to your music. Pretty schnazzy, huh?

Sample My Music Page Upload songs, albums and album artwork .... Customize your music player .... View statistics showing how your music is performing .... View demographics on who is listening to your music ..

I just need your help to make it a success. --------------------------------------------------------- We have 950 registered members sharing 3000+ works of art. hehe, i'm glad you like.

Don't be envious. Hopefully, be inspired. I mean, it just takes some studying and trying to get to where I am. I have a longgg way to go to where I want to be too. I would love to be producing work like Phil Mucci, Mark Selliger, and Eolo Perfido (to name a few).

So far, it's awesome. Getting to meet other artists and help them promote their artwork. At the same time, I get to make my own art with people I used to dream about working with.

It is just super scary right now cause there is so much invested in the magazine/site being a success.

Thanks for checking it out. It really helps. =)

I started it. It's been about three years of hard work and the site is finally up.

I saw you went to FIDM. Do you know Heather Mayer?

Do you make your own designs...or, what do you do?

I love all art. haha... I'm interested in any graphic arts. I'm trying to master Illustrator because I love to draw. I do a lot of designs... just for fun. Currently I'm trying to learn how to use spray paint.

The site is awesome by the way!!!

I'll totally put that on my myspace profile and post some bulletins in the FIDM group too.

I'm signing up right now...

YAYY!! Thank you so much for the help.

Illustrator is next on my list of things to learn. I'm pretty good in photoshop, but illustrator would be awesome to know to incorporate into my photography.

Thanks again for the help!
