It is amazing to me that the words, "I promise" have very little value anymore. Well, to some people they do but alot of us just throw the words around like giving your word doesn't matter.  For example, boy says, "I will never leave you. I promise you this today."  Only a short few days later he is gone.  Wow.  How can someone break a promise so easily and so quickly?  It is no wonder that this girl doesn't trust a soul.  Everyone who has ever made a promise to her has broken it.  She laid her heart and soul out in his hands. He stole her dreams and crushed her future into a pile of dust.  Now, tonight as she sits home alone on this sleepless night, she remembers a promise that she made.  Boy says, "Don't ever stop loving me." And she says, "No matter how mad you make me or how much you make me cry I will always."  This promise will never be forgotten and I know it will never be broken.  When I make a promise I keep it.  Broken promises equal broken hearts and a broken trust.  A broken heart can be mended but a broken trust is something that will never heal.  It will never be the same again.  The bottom line is simple.  Don't make promises if you don't intend to keep them.
