Monday,May 19 2008, 05:58:49 AM Classes and misc.
Today's class was with science fiction writer Nancy Kress at Hugo House, fun class, brought to us by nwmediaarts. My favorite exercise was one where you had your character think about a news report. That worked fine. This coming week I have a class on plotting with Mary Buckham, I hope it is as good as promised.
Meanwhile, did a bunch of articles on Ulcerative Colitis with one for fun titled Literary Poop--featuring miscellenea, fiction, nonfiction, quotes, etc. on the subject of poop. Check out my latest poem in the poetry and stories contest, plus:
Barnacles and Bait
Seashore knows the wind like feet waves,
sand adores crabs like the barnacles brine,
and always the deep brown eyes watching,
harbor seals longing for swim friends,
and the endless crash of wave.
I know the bait you bring has not worms
only the shrimp, chopped fish, and guts.
I know the herring gulls and ringbilled,
and others winging up shore, visit
the lofty places and wonder along with me.
