Keeping Well

After being out with the double co-op internship, college awaits only in Jan/2008 since no Fall semester courses. No worries chillaxing, checking with friends, browsing about. A B-Day bash to an old high school friend at Medieval Times in downtown Toronto with the ones of ex-high school ppl few grades below. Good-looking bunch and interesting folks. Is it best to call up old friends for a gathering when not sure how things turn out? yeh yeh, the old saying of not knowing unless you try...a first for everything...

Saw the screening to Bee Movie...funny, humourous. Great voice-overs and typical cartoon fashion of Bees flying a plane. Just an annoying feel to typical Jerry Seinfield voice and a sense of awareness to the life and times of bees and why they do what they do.

A big kudos to the New Yorker on the subway who say his girl of his dreams as love at first sight...drew the time/date, her pic-style and wrote down his number-email and posted on his website in hopes of contacting her...sure enough through another person, they got in touch and going steady. He a Brooklyn Web designer...she a Blackbook magazine intern from Australia. Ironically, her home in NY was burned a few weeks ago.

Long Time

Been awhile...busy months with interning as Quality Control at a freezy company for college program in Food Microbiology. Testing sugar/volume levels, maintaining microbe checks and sanitary conditions. End our term August, 9, 2007. After, going back to school in Jan/2008. Had the company picnic week earlier...hot sun for active duties, fun fun with dunk tanking management and communicative experience.

Been keeping cool with the warm summer days. Get going on workouts; Breezy days a time for jog/walks. Latest movie seen was Transformers. Started reading up on the 7th and last Harry Potter book.

Well, Canada Day is among us...the long weekend having a holiday Monday. Going home from work Friday evening a headache on the TTC transit bus as GO train stalls on the tracks middle of the road. 10 minutes in jammed traffic, supervisor pulls up to direct the buses to make a 3-point turn and take alternate routes. The cause - Day of Protest by one Mohawk native blocking other routes via tribal band members from Toronto to Montreal. Don't blame them...Own Government not accepting who they are, taking away their land claims since early years. Their people and youth are not in good condition. Did a project in high school about their land claims and generations of their people, saw the stand-off between Natives and Police in the 1990s.

The sister and I went to the primier screening of 'Transformers' - as she won the tickets online...Action-speedy autos -turn-robots fighting flying foes to conquer a cube of power. One kid's Camaro and company of cars do guardians of the great-grandson to an explorer who made the historic discovery in the Antarctic. Tune in...go see...

Weekend of wonders as the 1st immediate cousins from Edmonton/Calgary and Toronto converge in Toronto for a gathering. Yesterday Friday evening the 8 Toronto local cousins got together for dinner with relatives with one family flying in from Edmonton; Their one son flying in late-weekend with wife and new-born daughter.

International stories to ponder about as the world gets set to play host in London for late Princess Diana concert. Britain's PM Tony Blair is out of termed office and is taken over by his long-time financial minister. Scary times for world-wide terror plots being foiled, but Scotland's Glasgow Airport shut down after a SUV on fire rams into front entrance.

Post - Oscar / Weekly Digest

Last Week's Oscar night was fun to watch. Having Ellen DeGeneres host the awards is like her typical monologue speech of her own show. Yes, yes, I do watch her show - either in the afternoon of evenings given the chance. Great laugh giving Martin Scorceses a script and taking a pic with Clint Eastwood. Odd having Steven Spielberg take a digital camera pic of all objects rather a camera roll.

Good for giving Martin the director award after so long, but sucks that Peter Otoole didn't after waiting with so many nominations. Whoever Ellen has on her show, that guest will probably be on Oprah Winfrey's talk show - or vise versa I guess.

Winter storms from America's central 'Hurricane Alley' would wind it's way up North Eastern North America hitting with snow and freezing rain. Power failures and driving being a mess of total disruption. Work of course arriving late. Was a Thursday, getting ready to leave and just light snowsqualls-flurries. By the time I walk along the side road to work, been heavy snow and whiteout conditions with poor traffic gridlock bumper to bumper. As of next month, working the day shift.

Tornados would rip through some American states killing scores - grief at a school after students are killed after their school is 'done in'. A pre-dawn Friday accident sends Ohio's Bluffton University baseball team's charter bus over an overpass on to Interstate 75. Driver stayed on the left HOV lane, but didn't realize the lane cut into two, the left lane going onto an off-ramp to a new road. At high speed, realized too late, took a hard right and slammed into the wall going over. The driver and his wife, plus 6 students of the boys baseball team died.

Winter Wonder

A late winter spells global warming after winterless December. Winter did come deep and cold...Western Canada getting in the minus 40C windchill and later into America then Eastern Canada; Call to leaders to minimize increase of man-made destruction to air, land, sea.

Started up on college intern at Kisko Products freezy company for 8 months as of Jan/10 2007. Checking sugar levels, maintaining machine/microbes. First month of morning shift 7-3:30 and February being 3:30 to midnight.

Chillaxing and updating sites...shouts to Myspace, facebook, bebo/ringo...and such.

Christmas Connectivity

Hope all is well...war of words mounted between The Donald and Rosie after giving second chance to Miss USA partying attitude. Can't blame small town country girl for getting mixed with the wild/rush of big city life of New York...but wouldn't you have figured how to behave role model fashion? *tsk* *tsk* Oh, boo-hoo.

Just 'cause comb-over Donald is a billionaire, doesn't mean to be a grinch and steal from big-mouth Rosie. Although, she does have a point. Kudos to her.

Where else is the love? Chillaxing with family, checking up on friends. Is there a way to invite one self to social invitations without hesitation? Christmas is here...giving and receiving, hustle and bustle of shopping, especially last-minute.

Wide-range of movie choices to follow up on. Happy Feet, Charlotte's Web, and a few. Went to see Rocky with sis/cousins on Christmas Eve.

Eternal Innocence

September seems to just up and walked away. First month of school and no rushings of assignments; few tests upcoming weeks; layout of school with respect to classroom a moderate task in a hunt of specific locations. Peer to peer introductions slowly managed and taking form of conversations and knowing who's who. Picky situation of getting to know that one or few more interesting individuals.

Weekend was typical...homework, website updates...But all-out emotion to the lives lost. One Montreal high school and three horrific U.S school shootings - near Columbine, Wisconsin, and recently at an Amish School. Montreal site involved angry 'vampire-goth' killing one girl before himself. In another non-related shooting death, an up-and-coming teen dragster died after her suped-up, jet-powered at 400+ km/h lost control hitting a concrete barrier. Reminds me of the female sisters who shared the inspiration of racing from a young age [and became a movie].

After 2 weeks of college, all is looking well. Typical courses of Microbiology are same to that of previous graduate program - but of differing timeline. But behold...getting in touch of 2 new female strangers from chillaxing is smooth sailing upon future familiar sightings.

'Twas the sister's 20th B-Day on September 15...last call-up with her/her friend for the Jays-Rays game after other friend cancels. The seating section? - Ladies Night Out with access to Club VIP . Not to worry - Jays won in bottom 10th comeback down 3-0 sealed 5-4 with Hill's walkoff 2-run homerun; Pics taken with ex-Jay Candy Mondellino[sp?], Wrestler Edge and Jays' Philips + Hattig

Later tonight, B-Day dinner of 4 [minus working brother] to Mandarin.
Touchdown from Summer

Left for Washington DC August 22nd, arrived back in Toronto August 29. 1 hour delay leaving Washington-Dulles Airport due to the plane coming in from Toronto to pick us up.

A nice stay at the uncle's/aunt's place...can't complain. Been awhile after nearly a decade...adopted daughter married and moved out to Virginia, another older brother of uncle's and dad's from Virginia came over with his wife.

Spent the days shopping and browsing the city. Went over on the Sunday to check out the monuments, but getting around by car near the White House now after 9-11 isn't so easy. Back then, everything seemed spacious, now seems cramped and overrun by trees, and people...it all good, depending where you go :p

Weekend turned crumy with that storm Ernesto raining down. Getting ready for college next week; Graduated with diploma after 3 yrs, transfer to 2 yrs another college.

After 10 years, 6-yr old beauty pageant queen JonBenet Ramsey's killer is a former school teacher caught by Indonesian authorities - linked to possible current child crimes. For years, her parents were under cloud of suspicion, but later the Distric Attorney withdrew any parental involvement. This past June, Patsy Ramsey died of ovarian cancer. She was told of a follow up lead on a possible suspect.

============

Lebanese Army sends in it's troops alongside UN forces to secure the Hezbollah stronghold along boreder regions. How iffy when you need Lebanon to secure itself against Iran, Syria and Hezbollah - when you could have had them fighting terror in the beginning. Cease fire commenced yesterday after 5 weeks of raging military shelling and ground war.

============

Britain averted a terror plot of terrorism to blow up ~10 US-bound planes from UK. Items so simple are banned on carry-ons for use of explosives and security threat - liquids, gels, wiring, creams/pastes...Kudos to that, as long as kept secure in usual luggages.

============

This past weekend, went to Toronto's Taste of the Danforth. Was expecting to go alone, ran into a she-friend from college who was waiting for her friend and friends' friend. Somehow chilled along with the 7 of them, ended up eating at Mr. Greek[s]...my first time doing that, splendid opportunity. And by the end of all good-byes at the subway entrance, kept near to my original she-friend lol - who had to wait for another friend. Good walking and talking by the side streets...dishing out comments and complements...how cute, to a cutie...possible crush or just infatuation?

Nice and cooler week...summer breezes a chillaxing feel.

Getting ready to fly on out to Washington DC with sis/dad to visit his bro/relatives...been awhile after 10 yrs...Hopefully can get a digi cam from Scarborough Town Center for photogs.

Til Then, Adios Dear Friends

Springing Through

Well, a chilly start to Spring. Tried that experiement where you can really balance an egg upright - with resepct to the Spring Equinox and the Earth's tilt . So far, no luck

Ontario's College strike is still on-going - they do got the mediator going. Hopefully can deal soon within the week. Chilling/MSN, emailing old/new friends. Reading up on notes

All is well on the High School front - emailed some buds past/present. Seems old/new grads are popping up on Myspace and Hi5

NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs are nearing 8th spot, but Atlanta is in the way; Must have within 6 loses of the coming 15 games.
Exam Week and Winter Days

Usually low key. Monday's exam was great...sure missed a few key points. Yesterdays was a pick 1-of-3-topics choice of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - a discussion of good quality book - which I wrote well. Don't you hate it when you just wanna drag on and on with writing?

We shall see what Friday holds...hopefully by then, this winter storm won't be too dramatically harsh. Been snowing last few days, heavy on/off.

December's First Weekend

Last night, Saturday, 10 of us dine out at a Japanese Restaurant out in the North West corner of Toronto. Should've remembered the place - same area after bowling and Bubble Tea. So anyway, I'm not fond of rawness - you try salmon or other - won't go, won't stay down

So after we stuffed ourselves full with 'all-you-can-eat', we headed down the street to the Bowling alley for 2 lanes. Great scene with Saturday night fever of youthful people .
