Glass/bronze sculpture
Thursday,Mar 6 2008, 06:34:03 AM

Glass/Bronze sculptures are among the most sought after forms of collectable art. Desired for its beauty and durability, bronze sculpture has existed for over 3000 years. The ancient Greeks and the Chinese both worked with bronze and we have many examples of their works on display in our museums to this day. 20th century artists such as Umberto Boccioni followed in the footsteps of Donatello of the 14th century.

The artist creates a Glass/Bronze sculptures in wax by first adding and subtracting wax from an initial block of wax using a pot of heated wax and knives.

Once the Glass/Bronze sculptures is completed, the mold making process begins. Vents are added to the sculpture, all of which angle down towards the bottom of the sculpture. The vents are used to provide an escape for the hot gases that are used in a later stage as well as provide the poured bronze an ability to fill in hard to access areas of the sculpture. The sculpture is then flipped upside down and encased in a block of fire resistant plaster

Using a heated kiln, the wax is burned out leaving a negative cavity

When the bronze is poured into the newly formed cavity of the Glass/Bronze sculpturesthe hot gasses escape through the vents.

Once the bronze has cooled the vents and plaster are removed and the bronze is cleaned.

The next stage in the creation process is the Patina. Using a mixture of chemicals applied to the sculpture with a torch and a brush, the surface can take on a variety of colors. Ferric Nitrate produces reds and browns; Cupric Nitrate produces greens and blues and Suppurated Potash produces black.

In the final stage, a thin coat of wax is added to preserve the patina.

When selecting a Glass/Bronze sculptures for your home or office there are a number of variables to consider. Although it is costly, sculpture (like other forms of art) retains its value and when purchased, with the right insight, can be viewed as an investment.

Oil painting china
Thursday,Mar 6 2008, 06:33:32 AM

Oil painting china is an amazing versatile medium. It can be applied in a thick buttery fashion or thinned down to a watery consistency. This versatility opens the door to a number of different painting techniques.

My personal preference is to begin my Oil painting china by first sketching out the composition using acrylic paint or with water-soluble oil paints. The popular approach to Oil painting china is to thin the paint with turpentine to apply your initial layers. Turpentine is quite toxic and I prefer not to work with it. Acrylic or water-soluble oil paints can be thinned down with plain old water and are more pleasant to work with in my opinion.

You can also begin your Oil painting china by first drawing out your composition. There are a few drawing mediums that work quite nicely with oil paints. My two favorites are vine charcoal and water-soluble pencils. I prefer vine charcoal because it doesn't smudge like other charcoals and it can be erased easier. Water-soluble pencils are wonderful because they can be applied like ordinary colored pencils and can also be dampened with a brush allowing you to spread out the color.

If you are the impatient type, you may want to try your hand at the Alla Prima Oil painting china technique. The Alla Prima method is when you complete the painting in one sitting rather than paint in layers and wait for the paint to dry. Although I usually prefer to work out my paintings in layers, I occasionally enjoy this exciting and spontaneous approach to Oil painting china
If you are the careful, patient type of painter, you may be interested in working with glazes. Glazing has lost popularity these days, partly because of the time needed to complete such a painting and its difficulty, but the results are something truly unique to any other type of painting technique. The composition is first painted with an opaque monochrome under painting, usually in shades of gray. After this initial under painting is thoroughly dry, thin layers of transparent oil glazes are applied. Colors are not mixed directly but added in separate layers to get the desired color.

If you are the adventurous type, put the brushes aside and try a set of painting or palette knives. You can achieve some very interesting results with knives that aren't possible with brushes. The oil paint can be spread on thickly and scraped off with ease. What I enjoy most about using knives is the tendency to not focus on the small details. I am forced to paint in a more relaxed fashion that creates an impressionist style painting. Get yourself a set of painting knives and try to complete an entire painting with just the knives. It's challenging at first if you are used to brushes, but it's an enjoyable exercise.

Perhaps you would like your painting to have more body and texture. You could try the impasto technique and apply your paint in thick heavy strokes, leaving evidence of all those wonderfully artistic brush strokes. Take a look at a Van Gogh painting and you will see this technique in action.

It's really no wonder why Oil painting china is such a popular choice for painters. There is so much to discover in Oil painting china You will never get bored trying out all the wonderful tools, mediums and techniques.

Glass Sculpture

Glass Sculpture has been around in its natural form since the beginning of time.  The bible stated that Glass Sculpture was more precious than gold (Job 28:17).  It has appeared in fairy tales (Cinderella’s shoe and carriage) and is the modern anniversary present for the 15th wedding anniversary.

In the 17th Century the British Government introduced Window Tax to raise funds from the new use of Glass Sculpture as windows, which lead to the phrase “daylight robbery”.  It was colored and shaped to create Stained Glass Sculpture Windows that represent stories (in Churches) and delight us with intricate patterns.

Glass Sculpture s without a doubt one of natures most beautiful mediums for sculpture.  From vases and plates to candle holders; from the abstract to the figurative,  Glass Sculpture  moulds itself into spectacular forms and shapes.

Each piece, which is individually hand made using very different techniques, has been developed and created to very high standard and specification.  The finest quality, imbued with the finest craftsmanship and innovation.  This  Glass Sculpture collection is as vibrant and flamboyant, as innovative and contemporary as it is unique and exclusive.  It will give your home the luxurious finishing touch that everyone desires.
